HOW IT WORKS

You pay.
We do everything else.

Most offset platforms hand you a list of 400 projects and let you panic. We've already done the curation — every credit on this site is rated, dated, and registry-linked.

01
You choose a methodology

Forest, cookstove, renewable, removal, or a portfolio. Fixed price per tonne — no project shopping.

02
We buy from the registry

Within minutes of payment, we purchase the credits from Carbonmark or Patch at wholesale.

03
We retire them on your behalf

Credits are permanently retired against your name (or ours, for pool retirement). Serial numbers logged.

04
You get the certificate

PDF and PNG arrive within hours. Public verify link. Shareable. Audit-ready.

RADICAL TRANSPARENCY

We publish the serials.
So you never have to trust us.

Every retirement carries a registry-traceable serial, project and vintage — logged on the public Verra or Gold Standard registry in your name. Look up any certificate and confirm the credits were permanently retired. Our quarterly report shows total tonnes retired, the standards behind them, and exactly what your payment covers.

Questions people ask before they buy

The short answers. Fifteen more, on how a purchase actually works, are on the FAQ page.

How many tonnes of CO₂ does one person need to offset in a year?

It depends where you live: roughly 1.9 tonnes for the average person in India, 6.5 in the United Kingdom and 14 in the United States. Our calculator estimates yours from flights, driving, home energy and diet in about a minute.

Who operates BuyCarbonOffsets.org?

Agochar Tech LLP, a GST-registered company in Rajkot, Gujarat, India. We are a reseller, not a registry: we buy credits that Verra, Gold Standard and Puro.earth have already issued, and retire them on your behalf.

Which currency will my card be charged in?

Outside India: US dollars, euros, pounds, Australian dollars or Canadian dollars — the price you see is the amount debited, with no conversion at checkout. In India you are charged in rupees at our INR price list, GST included, and every order gets a tax invoice.

Do carbon offsets actually reduce emissions?

A credit only reduces emissions if the project would not have happened without it, the reduction was independently verified, and it lasts. Plenty of credits fail that test, which is why we screen every one against the ICVCM Core Carbon Principles — and why offsetting belongs after cutting what you can, not instead of it.

What is the difference between an avoidance credit and a removal credit?

An avoidance credit pays for emissions that were prevented — keeping a standing forest standing, replacing a polluting cookstove. A removal credit pays for CO₂ taken back out of the air and stored, by trees or by machines. Removals cost more and are generally more durable.

Which registries do you retire credits on?

Verra (VCS), Gold Standard and Puro.earth account for most of what we sell, and the full list is on our standards page. The retirement is recorded on the registry’s own public ledger, not on ours.

How do I know the same credit was not also sold to someone else?

Every credit carries a serial number, and retiring it cancels that serial permanently on a public registry, so it cannot be sold or claimed again. Your certificate lists the serials and anyone can check them.

Can I offset a single flight, or do I have to subscribe?

Either. A one-off purchase for a single trip works exactly like a monthly subscription, and there is nothing to cancel if you only buy once.

Will my name be published anywhere?

The retirement is public; you are not. A certificate number on its own proves the retirement without showing who it was for — the name appears only to someone holding that certificate’s own link.

How old are the credits you sell?

Every credit is dated within the last 36 months and screened against the ICVCM Core Carbon Principles before it reaches the shop. The vintage — the year the reduction actually happened — is printed on your certificate.
