How it works.

What is a certificate number?

Every offset we issue gets a public certificate number in the format BCO-YYYY-NNNNN (for example BCO-2026-00123). It is printed on your PDF certificate and in your confirmation email.

What does verification show?

The beneficiary, tonnes retired, methodology, registry and standard, vintage, retirement date, and the registry serial number — the same details on the certificate, served live from our records with a link to the public registry entry.

Can anyone verify a certificate?

Yes. Verification is public and needs no login — that is the point. Anyone you share a certificate or link with can confirm it is genuine.
